Qualification for the Champions League could be a very close call. Going into this round the reigning champions are in 5th place, one point behind fourth-place Chelsea. Their lead over 10th Bournemouth is only four points. With several teams still lurinkg for a place in the European Cup finals, City are still searching for consistency. The break came at the right time, and Pep Guardiola's team bounced back with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth. Sky Blues now hope to build on in the Premier League. They are firm favourites for the win. Leicester currently sit in 19th place in the table, nine points away from safety. Wolverhampton are the only team still within reach. West Ham, in 16th place is already 17 points behind. The 2016 Premier League champions have conceded 35 goals away from home alone, which makes them with the worst defence in the league. |
